The disciplines we offer

learn to dance in leeds

Ballroom & Latin: Step into the world of Ballroom & Latin dance as our instructors guide you through these classic partner dances. Learn Ballroom dances including: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep and Latin dances such as: Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. Explore the fundamental technique and unique characteristics of each of these dance styles at your own pace guided by our expert, friendly instructors.

Commercial Ballroom & Latin: This style of dance fuses traditional Ballroom figures and techniques along with influences of contemporary and commercial dance. Based upon traditional routines such as Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep; a blend of various genres of techniques and performance qualities elevate these routines to another level. These routines are often danced to a more upbeat, modern soundtrack which makes it even more fun to dance to!

Street Dance: Street Dance is a genre of dance that covers lots of different urban styles. These include Hip-Hop, Locking, House, Whacking, and Commercial Dance. We teach authentic styles of dance to a range of music from current favourites to old school classics!

Salsa & Bachata: Salsa and Bachata are some of the most popular dance styles in the world, which is no surprise. From the uplifting Latin music to the easy flowing step patterns, you will learn these styles and dance them confidently in no time! We teach a traditional style of Bachata as well as LA ‘slot’ style Salsa which emphasises footwork and spinning.

Classical & Modern Sequence: There are so many popular Ballroom and Latin based Sequence dance routines that are danced through many Ballrooms around the world. These are perfect for those wishing to join social occasions such as dance evenings on cruises or at the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Some popular dances we cover include Sally Ann Cha-Cha, Rumba One and Melody Foxtrot and many more!

Are you eager to learn about multiple dance styles and can't pick just one? Not to worry! We can tailor your lessons to explore a combination of styles, creating a dance journey that is uniquely yours.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

Once you’re signed up to a class, what do you need to know to prepare for your first session?

First of all, you'll need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for dancing. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes that fit securely and do not have too much grip. Plimsoles for example are fine to start with. We do not recommend sandals or flip flops as they can easily fall off when dancing. If you decide further down the line that you would like to invest in some dance shoes a member of our team can advise on that. There is no need for formal ballroom shoes at the beginner stage.

The same goes for clothing, choose something you are comfortable in and that you can move freely in, loose clothing or sportswear is ideal.
